Leadership

We know that Jesus wants leaders in His church and takes them seriously.  Consider the following verses:

1Thessalonian 5:12-13

We ask you, brothers, to respect those who labor among you and are over you in the Lord and admonish you, and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.

1Timothy 3:1-5

The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task.  Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.  He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God's church?

James 3:1

Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

Eph 4:11-13

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,

So as a body of believers we take leadership in this church seriously.  It is an important task, one greatly needed in the body and one which comes with rewards.  And taking up the role of a leader in the church is not to be done flippantly either.  We value those who serve here at our church greatly.  The following are some of our leaders and some of the boards Jesus has lead us to create to aid this body in serving Him.  If you'd like to get to know our church and where it's headed, invite some of these people over for dinner, thank them for their work, and get to know them better.
